The release of the new Nintendo Switch OLED console is just around the corner.

Gamers can pre-order the latest Nintendo console before it’s released to the general public on 8 October.

Following demand for the original Nintendo Switch – and recent shortages – if you’re wanting to get your hands on the OLED edition, you might want to think about pre-ordering it.

The Nintendo Switch OLED in white is priced at £309.99 and you can pre-order it from the following:

Meanwhile the neon red and blue edition of the Nintendo Switch OLED is also available to pre-order, from the official Nintendo website and Argos.

The console is also priced at £309.99 at both of those retailers and is limited to one per customer.

So what features does the new Nintendo Switch OLED have? There’s a brand new seven inch screen that will offer “brighter, shaper and vivid colours”.

There’s a new stand that still flips out the back of the console, but is wider and more stable, as well as adjustable to multiple heights.

Another major new feature is the inclusion of a wired LAN port, which means the console won’t need to rely on Wi-Fi for internet connection.

It also has internal storage of 64GB and enhanced audio with its onboard speakers.

The console will also be compatible with existing Nintendo Switch games, including Animal Crossing, Mario Kart and Super Mario 3D World, so you won’t have to buy a new collection.

Nintendo Switch is on sale ahead of Black Friday

If you’re not after the latest model, then you can get the original Nintendo Switch at its cheapest price ever.

In the run-up to the OLED release, the price of the classic neon red and blue and grey editions of the Nintendo Switch were slashed to £259.

It marked the console’s cheapest price ever and gamers can still bag the deal from Amazon here.

This also comes ahead of the day of deals, Black Friday, on 26 November. It will see retailers launch sales in-store and online, which will hopefully include gaming products.

Typically the sales start early, with the likes of Amazon running week-long discounts in the run up to Black Friday.

You can also expect the likes of John Lewis, Argos, Currys and more to take part, so keep an eye out on the Nintendo Switch, as the price may drop even more.
